Sarah Winsett Wiles was the David H. C. Read Preacher/Scholar award recipient for 2008, given by Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church in New York, NY.
She is serving at First Presbyterian Church in Ann Arbor, MI, as part of the Lilly Residency Program. Previously she worked in the president's office at Union Theological Seminary in New York, NY.
Wiles received a master of divinity degree in May 2008 from Union Theological Seminary. In 2004 she graduated magna cum laude from Wake Forest University, where she studied religion and psychology. She grew up in North Carolina where her paternal grandfather and great-grandfather were ministers and her father taught Old Testament at a theological seminary in Winston-Salem.
