The Rev. Dr. Robert Ensign is an ordained Presbyterian minister and teaches at Bauder College in Atlanta, GA. He was the 2005 Day1 Sermon of the Year Award runner-up.

Ensign is currently director of institutional effectiveness and research at Bauder College, where he earlier served as coordinator of general studies. He is a graduate of Whitworth College, Spokane, WA.

He was ordained in 1977 and received a master of divinity from Louisville Presbyterian Seminary and a Ph.D. in theology and language from Emory University, Atlanta, GA. He served a parish in Tennessee and later spent 14 years as chair of the humanities department at Morris Brown College in Atlanta.

The darkness had long since closed in. The night wrapped its thick blanket around the house. And if a traveler should happen to walk by, he would notice that the inside of the house was as dark as the night itself.

In a room upstairs, underneath the fluffy, warm covers, she lay sleeping. And dreaming. She dreamed of a green, leafy garden. A waterfall splashing and singing by a clear water pool. Warm sun, easy shade. Trees loaded with apples and grapes and pears and bananas. A cool breeze blowing. And a man.
