As I read about Jesus not only allowing or tolerating but affirming what Mary was doing, my heart jumped with joy.
Sitting at the feet of Jesus and listening might not seem very radical for us, but in Mary's day it was a violation of both cultural and religious rules and practices.

When you look around you and see so much wickedness going on-so much killing and robbing, so much scheming and corruption in politics, so much social duplicity and infidelity, do you sometimes feel as though you would like to run away from it all and seek relief in some isolated wilderness? Then you can appreciate how David felt when he gave utterance to the cry of the text.
