Bishop Rob Wright: Gaining

Endurance allows us to gain our souls, Jesus said. Soul is the breath of God in us from the beginning. Call it inborn divine capacity. Treasure in a clay jar. But, we can activate it.

 

Trying God's way, letting Jesus' words win our days and interactions with others, and we grow. We better possess what has always been. Like the child given an adult-size jersey to grow into, we are growing into the full stature of Christ.

 

Would we have ever asked for this growth, knowing that the soul's most beautiful colors are released with selflessness, patience and service? Well-doing over time. Embracing enemy. Generosity. Perseverance.

 

We dive in and swim to the depths of doubt and despair because faith tells us there is a pearl of great price to claim. So, we do not lose heart. So, we cling to the Cross!

 

Salvar

La perseverancia nos permite salvar nuestras almas, dijo Jesús. Desde el principio, el alma es el soplo de Dios en nosotros. Llámalo la capacidad innata divina. El tesoro en una vasija de barro. Y, podemos activarlo.

Iniciemos el camino de Dios, permitamos que las palabras de Jesús dominen nuestros días e interacciones con los demás, y creceremos. Poseemos mejor lo que siempre ha existido. Como al niño que se le da un jersey de tamaño adulto para que crezca en él, así estamos creciendo en la plena medida de Cristo.

¿Hubiéramos jamás pedido crecimiento, sabiendo que los más hermosos colores del alma se manifiestan con generosidad, paciencia y servicio? Hagamos siempre el bien. Abracemos al enemigo. Generosidad. Perseverancia.

Buceamos y nadamos hasta las profundidades de la duda y la desesperación porque la fe nos dice que hay una perla de gran precio a conquistar. ¡Por lo tanto, no desmayemos! ¡Por lo tanto, aferrémonos a la Cruz!
