Bishop Rob Wright: Activity
From jail, John hoped his work would continue. His work was to reach people religion left behind. Through his cell bars he asked his friends, "Is Jesus the Messiah, or should I keep waiting?" Pay attention to how Jesus answered the question: "Tell John the blind receive sight, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, good news is brought to the poor." Jesus could've given any answer but he pointed to activity.
What is leadership anyway? Some think leadership is a special sauce: equal parts charisma, smarts and training. Jesus and John knew better: Leadership is activity, available to all. All.
Jesus and John were lay people. Neither had any formal authority. Neither was a bishop, priest or deacon. But, both knew the good news. Both did the good news.
You know the good news. Nothing more is necessary. Really! Now, do gospel activity.
Actuar
