Holy Blossom Temple
Holy Blossom Temple, founded in 1856, is the oldest and largest Reform synagogue in Toronto and a leading center for Jewish worship, learning, and social action. Located at 1950 Bathurst Street in Toronto’s Forest Hill neighbourhood, its Romanesque Revival sanctuary (built 1938, designed by Chapman & Oxley) is a local architectural landmark, now connected via a light-filled atrium by Diamond Schmitt Architects that enhances community gathering spaces. The congregation actively serves thousands of families through spiritual services, lifelong education, outreach, and social justice programming. Its early history includes the Pape Avenue Cemetery (est. 1849), and it continues to evolve through inclusive and transformative communal architecture and programming.
