Oxford Presbyterian Church

Oxford Presbyterian Church traces its roots to a Sunday School founded in 1854 and was formally organized by the Fourth Presbytery of Philadelphia on January 20, 1867. After decades in North Philadelphia, the congregation relocated to Mt. Airy in 1945, and merged with Bethel Presbyterian Church in 1947, forming the congregation that continues today at 8501 Stenton Avenue.

For nearly three decades under the Reverend Dr. Ethelyn R. Taylor, who was installed in 1994 and retired in 2023, the church grew its membership, youth programs, and community engagement, becoming known as a welcoming congregation for the surrounding Northwest Philadelphia community. The church's Wednesday Bible study draws attendees from multiple denominations and across the region.

Today, Oxford Presbyterian Church continues its mission of worship, Christian education, community engagement, and outreach, holding Sunday worship at 11:00 a.m. and offering programs including a Literacy Education Adult Program and liturgical dance ministry. The church is affiliated with the Presbytery of Philadelphia and the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).
