Edmund Steimle: When the Lord Smiles on You

In his sermon on the calling of Peter, James, and John (Luke 5:1-11), Lutheran preacher Edmund Steimle says we tend to connect good luck with the Providence of God. Peter had tremendous luck early on. Then in Act II the boats were about to be overturned. Act III finds Peter an old man about to be crucified head down. Any human suffering does not mean that God is not smiling on us. God smiling on us means we are able to get out of ourselves and serve others.
