He earned bachelor's and master's degrees from Baylor University and M.Div. and Th.D. degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
He pastored Meadow Lane Baptist Church in Arlington, TX, Southcliff Baptist Church in Fort Worth, First Baptist in Midland, Dunwoody Baptist in Atlanta, and Tallowood Baptist in Houston.
He is the author of Pulling Together and The Doctrine of Creation, and contributed to several other books.
He and his wife, Earlene, are the parents of three and grandparents of five.
