The Rev. Dr. Laura S. Mendenhall is the former president of Columbia Theological Seminary, Decatur, GA, and an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA). She was Columbia's president from 2000 to 2009. She now serves as senior philanthrophy advisor for the Texas Presbyterian Foundation.
Mendenhall's research interests include the role of the sacraments in the life of the church, the use of daily prayer in structuring Christian community, and strategies for faithful proclamation of Christian stewardship.
