The Rev. James T. Moor is senior pastor of Tucker First United Methodist Church in Tucker, GA. Prior to coming to Tucker First, he served as pastor of St. Mark United Methodist Church, Atlanta, GA.
James Talley (Jimmy) Moor was born in Marietta, GA on February 3, 1948. He is a life-long United Methodist. He received an undergraduate degree in History from Emory University and a Master's degree in History from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He holds the Master of Divinity degree from Candler School of Theology at Emory.
Jimmy and his wife Julie have two children, Allyson and Josh, and two grandchildren. Jimmy loves sports; in fact, in high school he played on a state championship soccer team. Georgia Tech is his favorite football team, with South Carolina (where Allyson and Philip went to school and Philip played ball) coming in a close second. He's an avid reader (a book a week!), likes hiking, and loves the Varsity.
He loves music of all kinds. He especially enjoys baroque and Ralph Vaughn Williams. Jimmy's real "soul music," as he puts it, is folk and country.
