Denomination: United Methodist Church (UMC)

The General Board of Global Ministries is the global mission agency of The United Methodist Church, its annual conferences, missionary conferences, and local congregations. Its purpose is to connect the church in mission and in doing so, it seeks to equip and transform people and places for God's mission around the world. Its four mission goals are to make disciples of Jesus Christ; strengthen, develop, and renew Christian congregations and communities; alleviate human suffering; and to seek justice, freedom, and peace. The website of the General Board of Global Ministries, including the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), the relief and development unit of the organization, is: http://www.umcmission.org/.

This aspiration and vision both support the Biblical teachings of Christ, the mission of the General Commission on Religion and Race and that of the Church. To accomplish this, GCORR is committed to developing new leaders in the Church, which will lead to new ideas and innovations that will help the Church adapt to changing times.
