The Rev. Dr. David Jordan is the Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church of Decatur, Georgia. He is the author of three books, numerous published articles, poetry, an online sermon series, and a published short story. He also has taken numerous pastors and lay people to Israel and Palestine throughout the years.
Before coming to Georgia, he was a minister in four different churches in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and North Carolina.
A graduate of Furman University, David earned his M.Div. from Southern Seminary in Louisville, KY, and his D.Min. from Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur. He also studied at Ruschlikon Theological Seminary in Zurich, Switzerland, for a year.
David is married to the Rev. Dr. Beth Jackson-Jordan, the Head Chaplain and Director of Spiritual Care at Emory Decatur Hospital. They have three grown children, who unfortunately are scattered across the country working and completing masters degrees.
David’s hobbies include gardening, tennis, music, hiking, travel, reading good books, enjoying good food and spending time with his family.
