Sarah Sanderson-Doughty has been a teaching elder in the PC(USA) for 22 years. Since 2017, she has served as the full-time solo pastor of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Portland, Oregon. She is also a part-time staff member for the Presbytery of the Cascades, where she founded and leads the Conflict Assessment and Referral/Reconciliation Team. Over her career, she has served churches and seminaries across the United States, including in New York, Tennessee, Virginia, Indiana, and Oregon.

In 2015, Sarah earned a Ph.D. in Theological Studies from Vanderbilt University, where she focused on constructive theology and the role of the church as a visible witness to the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. She has a deep love for the church and a desire for Christian communities to embody transformative love. Sarah is passionate about helping groups work together effectively, speak truth in love, and manage conflict in healthy ways.

In 2019, she published a book of sermons, Words on Being: Sermons 2002-2018, through Parson’s Porch, offering reflections on her journey in ministry. Sarah shares her life with her husband, Kevin, a talented music teacher and church musician, and their daughter, Caroline, who is now a teenager.
