Rev. Dr. Jason Byassee is the senior pastor at Timothy Eaton Memorial Church in Toronto, Ontario, where he leads a vibrant congregation committed to faith, community, and service. Known for his engaging preaching and thoughtful theology, Rev. Dr. Byassee seeks to reinvigorate today’s church by blending ancient traditions with contemporary insights.

Before serving at Timothy Eaton Memorial, Rev. Dr. Byassee held the Butler Chair in Homiletics and Biblical Hermeneutics at the Vancouver School of Theology in British Columbia. He has also pastored Boone United Methodist Church in North Carolina, where his leadership sparked significant growth and renewal.

A prolific author, Rev. Dr. Byassee has written extensively on church revitalization, scripture, and ministry in the modern age. His notable works include Northern Lights: Resurrecting Church in the North of England, Better Than Brunch: Missional Churches in Cascadia (co-authored with Ross Lockhart), and Following: Embodied Discipleship in a Digital Age (co-authored with Andria Irwin). He regularly contributes to leading publications such as Christian Century, Sojourners, and Christianity Today.

In addition to his pastoral and academic roles, Rev. Dr. Byassee was a visiting fellow at St. John’s College at Durham University in the UK. His dedication to church life extends beyond the pulpit, emphasizing hospitality and community, including innovative programs to foster connection.
