Rev. Dr. Timothy W. Sloan serves as the Senior Pastor of The Luke Church in Humble, Texas. Under his visionary leadership, the church has grown from 300 members to over 5,000, becoming a thriving hub for faith and community outreach. Dr. Sloan is a graduate of Morehouse College with a Bachelor of Arts and holds a Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary. He also earned his Doctor of Ministry in Transformative Leadership from Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School.

Prior to his ministry at The Luke Church, Dr. Sloan served at Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church in Houston, Texas, and as Director of Interfaith Relations at Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston. These roles prepared him to shepherd a congregation dedicated to spiritual growth and social responsibility. Under his guidance, The Luke Church has partnered with organizations such as AARP, the NFL’s Play 60 campaign, and the NAACP to address community needs.

Dr. Sloan is also an author, co-writing Closer to You: A Devotional for Dads and Daughters with his daughter, Sarah Julia. He is passionate about global missions, supporting initiatives in South Africa and Haiti to build schools, train pastors, and provide medical assistance.

Recognized for his contributions, Dr. Sloan is a member of the Martin Luther King Jr. Board of Preachers and is affiliated with Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.. He resides in Texas with his wife, Dr. Sonya Sloan, an orthopedic surgeon, and their three children.
