Rev. Dr. Hyemin Na

Organization: Wesley Theological Seminary

Rev. Dr. Hyemin Na is Assistant Professor of Worship, Media and Culture and Chapel Elder of Oxnam Chapel at Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C. An ordained Elder in the United Methodist Church, Dr. Na brings a pastoral heart and an academic lens to her work, with a particular focus on how Christian liturgical practices intersect with media cultures.

Dr. Na holds an A.B. from Harvard College, an M.Div. from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, and a Ph.D. in religion from Emory University. Her research explores themes in digital worship, decolonial theology, and the evolution of liturgical practices, especially in communities shaped by diaspora and marginalization.

Her current book project, Megachurch Modernities, examines the sociocultural dynamics of megachurches and their influence on religious life in the 21st century. Dr. Na’s scholarship has been supported by the Fulbright U.S. Student Program, the Korea Foundation, the Louisville Institute, and the Forum for Theological Exploration, among others.

She has published widely on Christian media, pedagogy, and theology, and her course development has received recognition from the Wabash Center and the Dialogue on Science, Ethics, & Religion (DoSER) initiative of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

Before joining Wesley’s faculty, Dr. Na taught at Drew Theological School and served in various ministry roles. Her work continues to shape how future church leaders think about faith, media, and embodied worship in an ever-evolving world.
