Rev. Rebecca Gurney serves as the pastor of Reems Creek-Beech Presbyterian Church in Weaverville, North Carolina, a historic congregation rooted in the traditions of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). Rebecca grew up in Tennessee and moved to North Carolina to attend UNC-Chapel Hill, where she developed a deep love of learning and community engagement.

Before entering ministry, she taught middle school in Durham, NC, experiences that continue to inform her compassionate and grounded approach to pastoral care. Responding to a growing call to ministry, she earned her Master of Divinity from Duke Divinity School, where she cultivated a love of Scripture and ecclesial life that continues to animate her preaching and leadership.

Rebecca previously served as an associate pastor and director of congregational care, where she honed her gifts for preaching, spiritual formation, and walking alongside individuals and families through life's joys and challenges. Since arriving at Reems Creek-Beech, she has helped shepherd the congregation through seasons of both growth and recovery, including the aftermath of natural disasters.

Rebecca lives in Asheville, NC, with her husband Evan and their three young children.
