Rev. Shuna Dicks

Denomination: Church of Scotland (CofS)
Organization: Cults Parish Church of Scotland, Aberdeen

Rev. Shuna Dicks is the minister at Cults Parish Church in Aberdeen, Scotland — a vibrant Church of Scotland congregation she has led since her induction on 25 January 2018. Originally from the North East of Scotland, she holds a Bachelor of Divinity from the University of Aberdeen and previously served at Aberlour Parish Church for eight years.

Married to Neil, Shuna is a proud mother of two and enjoys reading crime fiction in her leisure time. A passionate musician, she plays both trumpet and flugelhorn in two local brass bands. Her ministry is characterized by a strong emphasis on community engagement, intergenerational worship, and inclusive outreach programs.

Under her leadership, Cults Parish Church has expanded its use of the Cults Kirk Centre, hosting activities from preschool groups to Pilates, Bible study, and community café events, fostering volunteer involvement from across the local postcode area. She is also a contributor to the UK-wide Spill the Beans preaching resource, working collaboratively to produce liturgical and educational materials.

A celebrated moment in her ministry occurred in August 2017, when she preached at Crathie Kirk and stayed as a guest at Balmoral Castle, where members of the Royal Family recounted that her great-grandfather was a shoemaker who had made shoes for the late Queen; the Queen reportedly still kept a pair in her room.

Shuna’s approach to ministry is deeply relational: she champions authentic pastoral care, encourages God-given gifts in everyday life, and models humility and service in both city and rural contexts.
