Rev. Jamie Butcher is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA) with more than fifteen years of pastoral experience in diverse ministry contexts across the United States and abroad. She currently serves as pastor of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, Georgia, where she leads a neighborhood congregation rooted in hospitality, theological depth, and faithful presence within its local community.

Jamie is a graduate of the University of Virginia and Princeton Theological Seminary, where she developed a strong foundation in theology, biblical interpretation, and pastoral practice. Her ministry reflects a deep attentiveness to place, shaped by her Appalachian roots and academic training in anthropology and Appalachian studies. She has served congregations in the Atlanta area, New Jersey, and Northern Ireland, experiences that continue to inform her thoughtful approach to preaching and community engagement.

Trained in hospital chaplaincy, Rev. Butcher brings pastoral sensitivity to themes of grief, lament, and hope, particularly in relation to ecological loss and creation care. Her preaching often draws on the Psalms, engaging the work of theologians such as Walter Brueggemann to explore orientation, disorientation, and reorientation in the life of faith.

Jamie is also a certified Enneagram instructor and approaches the Enneagram as a contemplative spiritual practice that fosters self-awareness, compassion, and growth in Christian discipleship. She lives in Decatur, Georgia, with her husband, son, and several cats, and enjoys tennis, yoga, and ongoing study of Appalachian culture and theology.
