Protect me, O God,
for in you I take refuge.
I say to the Lord, "You are my Lord;
I have no good apart from you."
-Psalm 16:1-2
Without God, what do you have? Without God, where would your soul be? What kind of life would you be living? How would your relationships be built, and where would they be going?
Without God, what would you have to look forward to, day by day, week by week, year by year? What would your goals and priorities be? How different would your life be apart from God?
The psalmist asks himself that very question. And he realizes without God, he has nothing good in his life. All would be emptiness, shallowness, and futility.
But with God is goodness. Richness. Depth. Meaning. Joy. With God are all good things.
Think of all the good things in your life. Realize that they are yours in the Lord. And praise God for them all.
