News from Day1: 13 Noted Church Leaders Join Day 1 Advisory Council

“Day 1,” the nationally broadcast ecumenical radio program also accessible online at Day1.org and by podcast, has expanded its Advisory Council with 13 noted pastors, professors, and church leaders.

The “Day 1” Advisory Council, whose chair is the Rev. Dr. Thomas G. Long, Bandy Professor of Preaching Emeritus at Emory University’s Candler School of Theology, now comprises 68 members, who will provide advice, ideas, and recommendations of preachers for the program.

“The Advisory Council was formed in 2004 to help us identify and vet potential preachers for the ‘Day 1’ program and provide advice for all aspects of our ministry,” explained the Rev. Peter M. Wallace, executive producer and host. “Under the leadership of Dr. Tom Long, the Council has been extremely helpful in giving us guidance and support, as well as credibility among the various denominations in the mainline church. We are so grateful for each member.”

With the new class of members, the name of the group has been changed from Advisory Board to Advisory Council to clarify their role.
