The Rev. Dr. Ruthanna Hooke

The Rev. Dr. Ruthanna Hooke is an Episcopal priest who serves as Associate Dean of Students and Associate Professor of Homiletics at Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria.
Before coming to VTS in 2003, she served parishes in the Diocese of Connecticut, and now serves as affiliated clergy at Immanuel Church-on-the-Hill in Alexandria.
Ruthanna received her A.B. in comparative religion from Harvard University, a master’s in performing arts from Emerson College, her M.Div. from Yale Divinity School, and her Ph.D. in theology from Yale University.
A respected speaker and workshop and retreat leader, she is the author of the book, Transforming Preaching.
