Reverend Jones Brown is the Senior Pastor of the Arch Street Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia, PA. She is the first woman and first person of color to serve in this role in the church’s 169-year history. She grew up in the Baptist church and was ordained at Second Baptist Church of Long Branch, NJ in 2005.

In addition to her work in the church, Rev. Jones Brown serves as the Dean of the Jarena Lee Preaching Academy and as a Cohort Leader for WomanPreach, Inc., a non-profit organization that “helps preachers preach”. She has also served At The Well Conferences as the Critical Writing instructor for more than ten years.

Rev. Jones Brown earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and Africana Studies and a Masters Degree in English Education from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ. She is also a graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary where she earned a Master of Divinity Degree in 2004. She received the Edward Howell Roberts Scholarship in Preaching as a second year student and the David B. Watermulder Prize in Church Leadership as a senior. She is also a contributing author in a book entitled, This is My Story, a collection of essays and sermons written by African American female preachers which was edited by Dr. Cleophus J. LaRue. (Westminster John Knox Publishing 2005.)
