Identifying as a “third culture” Canadian-Korean-Chinese, Dr. Han’s formative theological experiences were shaped on the mission field abroad. She has over a decade of leadership experience in the Canadian immigrant church context and has worked in various roles within the Canadian public and private sectors. Her research focuses on practical contextual theology, Canadian ethnic and intercultural ecclesiology, missional homiletics, diaspora missiology, and the intersection of gospel and culture. She is particularly passionate about developing an intercultural, intergenerational, missional ecclesiology for Canada.
Before joining Tyndale University, Dr. Han served as an ordained minister and church planter at New Hope Fellowship Church, where she was involved in establishing two new campuses. She has also worked as a chaplain, ministry leader, and guest preacher at various churches in the Greater Toronto Area. In addition to her academic and ministerial roles, Dr. Han is a wife and mother of three. She resides in a missional community that intentionally reaches out to its neighbors with the gospel. Her vocational commitment and theological passion involve critically observing and reflecting on how ecclesiology shapes and informs missiology.
Dr. Han has been featured in various podcasts and interviews, discussing topics such as creating margin in life for discipleship and understanding what the next generation seeks in churches. She emphasizes the importance of living out the gospel authentically and engaging with the community in meaningful ways.
