Karl earlier served as Pastor, Head of Staff at Grosse Ile Presbyterian Church in Grosse Ile, Michigan, for the previous seven years. Prior to that call, Karl was Pastor at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Roswell, New Mexico for eight years.
Karl graduated Magna Cum Laude from Trinity University in San Antonio, studied at San Francisco Theological Seminary, and was awarded an Honours B.D. from The University of Edinburgh in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Karl is noted for his work with 'generations' studies and with stewardship. He has served at every level of the larger Presbyterian church, and currently serves on special task forces for his synod and the General Assembly.
Karl is a fourth generation Presbyterian pastor, and a native Texan. He grew up in the west Texas community of Tulia. Karl has three children whom he adores, almost all of the time.
