An Invitation To Delight
Happy are those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or take the path that sinners tread, or sit in the seat of scoffers; but their delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law they meditate day and night.
—Psalm 1:1,2
Consider this an invitation. An invitation to a life of delight rather than drudgery. Of light rather than darkness. Of positives rather than negatives. Of merriment rather than bitterness. Of wisdom rather than foolishness.
This kind of life, the psalmist explains, comes only from God. And when you meditate on and delight in God's Word, you will be rewarded.
It's not a matter of picking and choosing, here and there, whenever you like. It's a matter of immersion. Of saturation. Of soaking in the reality of God day and night.
It's your choice. When you open the Bible, you take the first step toward this delightful way of life. Because it will encourage you to read and wrestle with the Word of the Lord.
So dive in. God is waiting to speak to you.
