Bishop Rob Wright: Lent 2013: Rejection

One definition of sin is resisting Truth. God is the founding reality of all realities; that is the Truth. And, that reality is that "God is love." (1 John 4:8) The faith journey then is increasing in harmony with that Truth.

If that is so, God has to deal with a lot of rejection. Listen to Jesus: "How often have I desired to gather your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you were not willing!" Luke 13:34

How and why do you reject God? Frustrate grace? For most of us it's in small but consistent ways, like the footsteps of a toddler running from a parent. But the peace we long for will never be achieved until our yes to God becomes increasingly more thorough.

We are God's; in God we "live move and have our being." Acts 17:28    Be reconciled to God, be reconciled to yourself.

Say yes again to peace.
