October 01, 2015

The Alliance for Christian Media, parent organization of the "Day 1" the media ministry, has announced that 24 new members will join 25 current members of its advisory board effective Oct. 1, 2015.  The expanded advisory board, made up of well-known pastors, scholars, and professors, is chaired by the Rev. Dr. Thomas G. Long, Bandy Professor of Preaching Emeritus at Candler School of Theology, Emory University, Atlanta.

A complete list of advisory board members may be found below.

"We are grateful for the members who have been serving for many years, and for those who are now joining our Advisory Board. We rely on these outstanding church leaders for ideas, connections, and recommendations for preachers on Day1," said Peter Wallace, executive producer and host of the program.

"With these wonderful additions we have nearly doubled the size of the Day1 Advisory Board in order to broaden and strengthen our relationships with all the mainline denominations today," Wallace added.

The Alliance for Christian Media has produced "Day 1" every week for almost 70 years, formerly as "The Protestant Hour." Featuring outstanding preachers from the mainline denominations, "Day 1" is currently distributed to more than 200 radio stations across America and overseas and is available via podcast online. The program is produced by the Alliance for Christian Media, based in Atlanta, Ga. For more information, call toll free 888-411-Day-1 or check the program's website, http://day1.org.
