Day1 is proud to bring you the Rev. John R. Gunn Facing Life Collection, which is comprised of selections from the thousands of messages which originally appeared in newspapers, books, and over the radio. Rev. Gunn said, "throughout these thirty-six years I have sought through my daily writings to point out God's answer to human needs as revealed in the Bible. It is my hope and prayer that He whom they seek to honor will use them in a wide sphere."
Little did John R. Gunn know that his writings would be extended in different venues; first the newspaper continued to recycle his columns daily for 15 years beyond his passing, then over 2,000 radio stations carried his messages daily for 12 years and now they are available around the world on the web.

The Rev. John R. Gunn comments, "Life's noonday is the most perilous period of life, as the story is intended to show. The demon of noonday - his name is legion, animalism, materialism, cynicism, pessimism. How furiously these demons sometimes attack men and women in the midday of life."
The Rev. John R. Gunn writes, "Thanksgiving, the giving of thanks, still comes at that time of the year when the harvest is gathered. It still is a good time of the year to say 'thank you' to God. The right time when everyone is slowing down to the twilight winter days."
This Facing Life article, based on Romans 12:3, examines the path we take when striving for success. The Rev. John R Gunn writes that it is good for people "to aim high. But they need also to guard against being led away into vain pursuits through an exaggerated notion of their ability and gifts."
